Fair Isle.

Just a quick blog update whilst sat at Aberdeen airport waiting for my flight to Manchester. We had a fantastic 6 days on Fair Isle and saw lots of good birds. Highlight though was Fred, Chris & me finding a Paddyfield Warbler at Da Water on our last day. A proper rarity! Thanks to Chris for letting me use his photo.

We also found 4 Richards Pipits together whilst having our sandwiches ( although Steve Arlow had already seen 5 fly in off the sea) an Olive-backed Pipit & a Red-breasted Flycatcher. With a supporting cast of Little Bunting, Bluethroat, dozens of Yellow-browed Warblers, Long & Short-eared Owls, Turtle Dove and the spectacle of mass migration of thrushes, pipits, larks & Goldcrests up through the geos it was a fabulous few days.
